If you are looking for an great way to start the Holiday Season, then Salida is where you need to be the night after Thanksgiving! Traditionally the kick off for Christmas shopping, this evening is a fun filled hometown treat in this small town 90 west of Pueblo.
This quaint mountain town boasts the Largest Historic District in Colorado. The downtown area is just blocks off Hwy 50 on F Street. This special night is packed with fun for all ages. Shops and galleries are open serving hot chocolate and goodies. New this year, is a moving parade of lights ending with Santa arriving on an antique hook & ladder truck to light the 800 foot Christmas Tree that adorns the side of Tenderfoot mountain. The peak sits at the end of F street, directly down from all the activities. A tradition which is added to each year, the tree can be seen from miles around.
Salida is located along the Arkansas River on Hwy 50. If youve never been there, the night after Thanksgiving, is a great time to discover a town that has much to offer those looking to get away from the big city. The festivities start at 6:00, so come early. Hope to see you there!
